Hello, my name is Joe and I am excited to advance your learning! I have an extensive background in electrical theory, ASL, and pottery. I'm ready to provide you with engaging sessions in which we can focus on your subject needs.
I believe in a student-centered learning environment. Your needs are my priority! I have provided personalized aid to those struggling with certain subject specifics, such as electrical troubleshooting or improving ASL syntax. My teaching style is nurturing, respectful, active, and positive!
Why trust my experience? I majored in Electrical Theory, earning all A's on telecommunication exams including Hitachi. I received perfect A's on my HVAC certification exams including the EPA 608. I have 26+ years of experience in telecommunications/data networking, industrial maintenance, and instrumentation. The past two years I've tutored electrical students between the ages of 20-30, providing one-on-one training and patiently guiding their practical learning. Also, the last 25+ years I've passionately taught life values as a religious volunteer, four of those years in the deaf community. I received high praise in an immersive 6-week ASL course at a community college and a five month course through a volunteer program. I love ASL and immersed myself into continuing to learn from native signers. I provided one-on-one instruction in ASL to students from 15-80 years old and I lectured in ASL to audiences of 60+ people. Lastly, I have 3 years experience in pottery throwing, learning my skills through professionals like Simon Leach. My love for pottery moved me to voluntarily teach 2-3 person group sessions with patience and repetition.
I'm an active member of an international community, which has taught me to be empathetic towards every sort of background, situation, and culture. My interactions with people from many countries helps me to understand various ways of thinking and expression. I'm interested in whatever I can learn from you as well!
