I was a full-time member of the English faculty at South Suburban College in South Holland, Illinois from 1983 to 2021. I taught an array of courses, including developmental English, college-credit English, and literature. I have taught a very wide variety of students, including many minority students, returning adults, and military veterans. I was a full-time member of the English faculty at South Suburban College in South Holland, Illinois from 1983 to 2021. I taught an array of courses, including developmental English, college-credit English, and literature. I have taught a very wide variety of students, including many minority students, returning adults, and military veterans. Therefore, I am thoroughly prepared to work productively with students from all walks of life. I also tutored in South Suburban College's Writing Center from 1984 until my retirement, work that I thoroughly enjoyed. I worked with thousands of students on everything from brainstorming to drafting and editing. I also wrote materials for the Writing Center that are still used.
Additionally, I was a lecturer at the Westville campus of Purdue Northwest from 2008 to 2019. I taught composition and linguistics and, from 2012 to 2017, I was the Writing Center supervisor, where I tutored students and trained new student tutors.
I am a published author of three novels and two textbooks.
