I am a licensed elementary teacher with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership. I have 6 years of classroom teaching experience working with students in grades 1 and 2. I am also Orton-Gillingham certified, providing me with specialized training in structured literacy instruction, phonics, decoding, and strategies to support students who are developing foundational reading skills.
Throughout my teaching career, I have helped students build confidence and grow in reading, writing, phonics, and math through individualized instruction and targeted interventions. My teaching approach is student-centered and focuses on meeting each learner where they are. For early readers, I use evidence-based structured literacy strategies to strengthen phonemic awareness, phonics skills, fluency, and comprehension. In math, I provide step-by-step instruction using visual models and engaging strategies to help students develop strong foundational skills.
In addition to my classroom experience, I have worked with children in a summer camp setting at a children’s museum, where I created engaging learning experiences and supported children through hands-on activities. I have experience teaching in classroom, small-group, and individualized settings with students of varying abilities. I enjoy creating a positive and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and building confidence as learners.
