Hi! I'm Ashlyn, an Elementary Education student at Indiana State University with a passion for helping children learn, grow, and gain confidence in school. I've worked with children through nannying, babysitting, and classroom field placements, giving me experience with a variety of ages, learning styles, and personalities. I genuinely enjoy creating a positive and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and celebrating their progress. My goal is to make learning engaging while helping students develop skills they can use both in and outside of the classroom.
Through my education program, I've gained hands-on experience working with elementary students in classroom settings, assisting with reading, writing, math, and classroom activities while learning effective teaching strategies and behavior management techniques. Outside of school, I've spent several years caring for children as a nanny and babysitter, where I've helped with homework, planned educational activities, maintained routines, and supported children's academic and personal growth. I primarily tutor elementary students in reading, math, homework help, and study skills. Every child learns differently, so I tailor each lesson to their individual needs, focusing on building understanding, confidence, and a love of learning.
