Also, before graduated from college, I worked as a tutor at Ivy Tech Community College in the areas of Algebra, Trigonometry, and College Algebra. I worked as a supplemental instructor at Indiana University South Bend in the Math department in the class of College Algebra. I am bilingual (Spanish-English) and very patient, I like to go step by step to solve problem so students can understand the process.

I enjoy reading Spanish literature and ride my bike on my free time. Also, enjoy working with my college professors in their research projects.

I have experience teaching: Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Precalculus, Geometry, Trigonometry, Linear Algebra, Finite Algebra. Please do not hesitate to contact me in case you need help.

Approved Subjects

Algebra 1

Algebra 1

Algebra 1 is designed to give students a foundation for all future mathematics courses. The fundamentals of algebraic problem-solving are explained step by step in a way that will be easy to the student to succeed in this class.
Algebra 2

Algebra 2

Algebra II is not only another math class in high school, it is your key that will guide you through among other subjects such as linear equations, inequalities graphs, matrices, polynomials and radical expressions, quadratic equations, functions, exponential and logarithmic expressions, sequences and series, probability and trigonometry. I will be gladly to help you to understand this subject with examples, guiding you through questioning so you can understand your class.
Calculus

Calculus

I have 10 years of experience teaching and tutoring AP Calculus AB and BC, focusing on helping students master both fundamental and advanced calculus concepts. My expertise includes limits, derivatives, integrals, differential equations, and series, as well as applications of calculus in real-world and AP exam contexts. I have developed effective strategies to build conceptual understanding, improve problem-solving skills, and enhance performance on the AP exams. Over the years, I’ve successfully guided students to achieve top scores by emphasizing both rigorous mathematical reasoning and clear communication of solutions.
Differential Equations

Differential Equations

In order to obtain my bachelor degree in mathematics, I had to take the class of differential equations I and II at Indiana University. I felt in love with the course and since then, even though I am a high school teacher, I have been keep helping students at a college level in differential equations.
Finite Math

Finite Math

Before started teaching at a high school level, I was a tutor for four years at Ivy Tech Community College in South Bend, Indiana. At the beginning, I tutored Finite Math (using the textbook "Finite Math for Business, Economics, Life Science, and Social Science of Barnett, Ziegler, and Byleen. However the last two years I became a supplemental instructor, I was inside the classroom helping students with questions about Math of Finance, Matrices, Logic, sets, Probability, Linear programming, and more.
Geometry

Geometry

I have extensive experience teaching and explaining high school geometry concepts, including Euclidean proofs, coordinate geometry, transformations, and trigonometric relationships. I specialize in helping students understand the logical reasoning behind geometric theorems and how to apply them to solve real-world and abstract problems. My explanations emphasize visual understanding, step-by-step problem solving, and connections between algebra and geometry. I’ve also created practice materials, visual aids, and interactive examples tailored to different learning styles and difficulty levels.
Physics

Physics

I have strong expertise in high school–level physics, including key topics such as motion, forces, energy, waves, electricity, and magnetism. I’m skilled at breaking down complex concepts into clear, step-by-step explanations that match high school curricula and learning standards. My experience includes helping students prepare for exams, complete lab reports, and apply mathematical reasoning to solve physics problems. I also emphasize real-world examples and hands-on understanding to make physics both engaging and accessible.
Precalculus

Precalculus

I have extensive experience with precalculus topics, including functions, trigonometry, exponential and logarithmic expressions, and analytic geometry. I can explain concepts clearly, provide step-by-step problem-solving guidance, and create customized practice problems or study materials. My expertise also includes helping students make connections between algebraic, graphical, and numerical representations of functions. Additionally, I emphasize conceptual understanding to prepare learners for the transition into calculus.
Trigonometry

Trigonometry

I have extensive expertise in trigonometry, including a deep understanding of trigonometric functions, identities, and their applications in geometry, calculus, and real-world problem-solving. I can explain and apply the unit circle, radians, and angle relationships with clarity, as well as solve complex trigonometric equations and model periodic phenomena. I’m experienced in guiding students through visual and analytical approaches to sine, cosine, and tangent functions. Additionally, I can connect trigonometry concepts to physics, engineering, and advanced mathematics for a more comprehensive understanding.

Great First Session

My grandson is off to a great start with Henry. Henry was prepared and friendly, putting my grandson at ease - who has a history of not enjoying working with tutors. He's looking forward to their next session.

Very thankful!

Henry worked with my daughter on Algebra II work. He was an accommodating as he could be with his schedule, and communicates well. In regards to the subject matter, he is very knowledgeable and went into details when teaching. My student said it was a very productive session, and came away more confident with the subject matter. We definitely plan on reaching out again. Thank you Henry!

Very knowledgeable and responsive

Henry responded right away to my daughter's tutoring needs, scheduled the time we chose and arrived early at the public place of our choosing. He is definitely qualified with his extensive background in math and his continued application of his skills. He was easy to talk to, nice and patient in his tutoring. His ability to explain high level math like PreCalculus to my daughter is a blessing, as this is completely over my head. We consider Henry as our own personal math tutor, and will ask to meet with him whenever she needs help with math anytime in the future. I highly recommend Henry for knowledgeable and patient tutoring.

Patient Math Tutor

Henry met with my son for the first time and my son felt very comfortable with him. He is a freshman in high school and said he would like to continue tutoring with Henry because he felt that he helped him more in that hour of tutoring, than his own teacher has all year. He explained things to my son so my son was able to understand what he was working on.

Patient, Understanding

Henry is very good at explaining concepts in a way his students understands. He knows that not all students learn in the same way, and can figure out the best way to reach them... He is a great teacher and clearly loves to see his students succeed.
