I started my degree program at the University of Noter Dame as a Physics major, and ran out of money.
I completed my degree majoring in Sociology at Indiana University ten years later.
My first job after completing my degree was teaching JR High English at St Joseph's Mishawaka.
At the end of my first year, I was recruited by a civil rights organization as an outside representative for a US Department of Labor program that they sponsored. Both my Director and I then joined the Indiana Governor's Office of Community Affairs as State Director and Assistant Director of Manpower Planning respectively. I returned to South Bend a year later to write the Head Start Grant. After that I authored an OEO grant for the Community Action Agency and a demonstration grant to build a modular day care center.
I then went on to write a US Department of Education demonstration grant for the Urban League Street Academy, a HEW grant for the Title 7 meals program, the City of South Bend's HUD required Workable Program for Community Development and the County of St Joseph's CETA block grant.
I, then, returned to school to complete my degree program.
Upon graduation I went into private sector sales and hospitality management. Even in retirement I still do product demonstrations at trade shows and retailers.
I am also a sell taught webmaster. and have been doing web sights for 15 years. I hand code HTML, Javascript, ans CSS. I specialize in SEO.
I love to cook, attend live jazz performances, and play pool and I am TEFL certified.
My teaching style tends to be informal. I prefer working with adults in a one on one setting using lesson plans tailored to the individual student.
