My passion for teaching began during my undergraduate studies as a Biology major, where I served as a peer tutor and discovered the joy of helping others master challenging concepts in both Biology and Mathematics. This early experience sparked a lifelong commitment to education.
After earning my undergraduate degree, I pursued a Master’s in Food Science with a concentration in Nutritional Biochemistry at Alabama A&M University. I then completed a Ph.D. in Nutritional Sciences at University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where I worked as a Graduate Research Assistant and delivered several invited guest lectures in Molecular Nutrition.
Following my doctoral studies, I accepted a two-year Postdoctoral Teaching and Research Fellowship at Cornell University. There, I taught Human Anatomy and Physiology, as well as a laboratory-based course in Methods in Nutritional Sciences.
Currently, I teach a range of courses to undergraduates including Essentials of Nutrition, Sanitation and Health, Food Safety, Child Nutrition, and Nutrition in Women’s Health. My extensive university-level teaching experience has allowed me to work with diverse student populations and refine my approach to making complex scientific concepts accessible and engaging.
I excel at breaking down intricate biological and nutritional concepts into digestible, understandable components. Whether you're struggling with biochemical pathways, anatomy systems, or nutritional science principles, I’ll help you connect the dots and see the bigger picture. This approach doesn't just improve your grades—it builds the analytical skills necessary for long-term academic and professional success. Let's make complex science clear and actionable.
Whether you're struggling to keep up, determined to earn that A, or genuinely curious about how nutrition and biology shape our lives, I'm committed to your success. Together, we'll transform confusion into clarity and turn challenging material into concepts you truly own. Let's make learning not just effective—but empowe
