As a Computer Science and Japanese student at the University of Notre Dame, my academic foundation is rooted in structured problem-solving and technical discipline. Achieving a 1580 on the SAT and a 35 on the ACT required developing systematic testing strategies, which I now translate into actionable lessons for my students. Alongside my university coursework, my extensive background in Advanced Placement STEM subjects, software programming, and foreign language acquisition enables me to tutor across a broad range of areas, including college prep math, computer science fundamentals, Japanese, and high-level standardized test preparation.

I have mentored middle and high school students in both one-on-one and group settings, drawing on my background leading educational sessions as a youth volunteer organizer and coaching peers as a competitive debate captain. My tutoring approach centers on active problem-solving rather than rote memorization. I begin with targeted diagnostic reviews to identify conceptual gaps, then break complex topics down into intuitive steps. I focus on deconstructing the exam's core mechanics, targeting students who desire to improve their scores into the high percentiles. Whether helping a student dissect tricky SAT passages, master AP math concepts, or write their first lines of code, my goal is to foster independent thinking, raise test scores, and build lasting academic confidence.

Approved Subjects

Calculus

Calculus

I hold a solid foundation in calculus, having earned a 5 on the AP Calculus BC exam and successfully completed university-level Calculus III (Multivariable Calculus), Linear Algebra, and Differential Equations. My focus is on helping students build strong problem-solving intuition for challenging topics like limits, derivatives, integration techniques, and series. I tailor my teaching to match each student's learning style, breaking down complex mathematical concepts into clear, step-by-step methods. Whether you are preparing for AP exams or navigating high school or college math courses, I am dedicated to helping you achieve mastery and confidence.
Japanese

Japanese

I am a 4th-year Japanese student at the University of Notre Dame operating at a C1 (advanced) level of proficiency. I completed an intensive study abroad program at Nanzan University's Center for Japanese Studies in Nagoya, gaining deep cultural immersion and practical fluency. Through continuous conversations with native speakers and close personal connections in Japan, I maintain strong, everyday communication skills. I specialize in guiding students through intermediate-to-advanced grammar, natural speaking nuances, and effective reading strategies tailored to their goals.
SAT Math

SAT Math

I achieved a 1580 on the SAT and hold an advanced background in mathematics, including a 5 on the AP Calculus BC exam and university-level coursework in Multivariable Calculus, Linear Algebra, and Differential Equations. Having mastered the SAT Math section firsthand, I teach students the core algebraic and geometric concepts, high-yield shortcuts, and pacing strategies necessary to score at the highest level. I focus on breaking down complex word problems, eliminating common traps, and tailoring practice to each student's specific areas of improvement. Whether you are aiming to cross the 700 threshold or targeting a perfect 800, I provide structured guidance to build both skills and test-day confidence.
SAT Reading

SAT Reading

I achieved a 1580 on the SAT and specialize in helping students navigate the complexities of the SAT Reading section. My tutoring approach focuses on active reading techniques, identifying key evidence, analyzing rhetorical structure, and decoding challenging vocabulary in context. I teach proven strategies to eliminate trap answer choices and maintain strong pacing across paired passages and dense texts. Whether you are working to boost your score or aiming for perfection, I provide personalized feedback to turn reading comprehension into a reliable strength.
SAT Writing

SAT Writing

Having scored a 1580 on the SAT, I provide structured instruction on the exact grammar rules, punctuation conventions, and stylistic principles tested on the SAT Writing section. I help students systematically identify recurring question patterns, master punctuation usage, and improve transitions and passage flow. By breaking down complex grammar rules into clear, predictable formulas, I train students to spot incorrect options quickly and avoid common test traps. My goal is to build both grammatical precision and test-day speed so students can approach every question with complete confidence.
