I'm a senior Accounting major at the University of Southern Indiana, on track to graduate in May 2027, with coursework covering Financial Accounting, Intermediate Accounting, and Individual Taxation. My educational background is backed by real-world application: I've completed two industry accounting internships and one tax season internship, where I worked directly with financial statements, journal entries, and individual tax returns, not just studied them in a classroom.
While I haven't worked as a formal classroom tutor, I've spent the last three years as the go-to person among my accounting classmates for help with Financial Accounting and tax concepts, walking peers through homework problems, exam prep, and concepts they were stuck on, one-on-one and in small study groups of 2-4 students. My approach is to work through the student's actual assignment or practice problem with them rather than teaching in the abstract, explaining the reasoning behind each step so the understanding carries over to the next problem, not just the one in front of us.
I primarily have experience helping fellow college students (ages 18-22) in one-on-one and small-group settings, which matches the level I'm applying to tutor.
