Hi! My name is Ally and I am a graduate of New York University with a double major in psychology and theatre. I graduated with a 3.9 from high school and a 4.0 from college. I have always been a curious learner eager to take as many credits as possible to further my education. I have always been a very hard worker and when I have a goal in mind I won't stop until I have conquered it and I aim to have my students feel just as confident when it comes to completing tasks and understanding their assignments.
I have been a tutor since I was in high school but did it more often in college and after graduating. I am particularly strong in tutoring elementary, and middle school aged students but I am open to all age groups. Furthermore, I love mathematics, science, and psychology but I am open to all subjects! While in my senior year of high school I tutored children in middle school that lived in surrounding neighborhoods and my name and services quickly spread around our town. I grew to love tutoring and after moving into college at NYU, I often helped students whether it be in study groups or on zoom. Tutoring soon became a passion of mine and I often wondered if in the future I would go back to school to become a teacher because of how much I loved helping others succeed in understanding different topics. This stands true today!
Throughout my tutoring career thus far, I have taught students ranging from age 6 to 20. Particularly during the pandemic, I offered zoom sessions with students in my classes that were having trouble whether it was because of the transition to online school, or because they simply needed clarity on topics of discussion. In doing so, I learned more about the topics myself and grew to like tutoring even more than I knew I could. I have always been very patient and friendly and I believe my approachable and personable manner helps students feel safe in our workspace and enables them to ask whatever questions they need to further their understanding.
