I am a college biology instructor with a strong foundation in both lecture and laboratory instruction across 200-level Biology majors courses. I hold a bachelor's degree in Business Management; bachelor's and master's degrees in Biological Sciences; and a graduate certificate in Biotechnology. I have several years of experience teaching at the community college level, where I work extensively with students pursuing general, pre-nursing, and science degrees. My teaching focuses on core areas such as cell biology, genetics, evolution, microbiology, and ecology. I regularly design assessments, review sessions, and learning activities that align with college-level expectations.

In my teaching, I emphasize breaking down complex biological processes into clear, structured concepts that students can apply on exams. I have extensive experience helping students who feel overwhelmed by topics like cellular respiration, gene expression, and body systems by using stepwise explanations, visual models, and targeted practice questions. I frequently work one-on-one with students during office hours and review sessions where I adapt my approach based on individual learning needs, whether that involves reinforcing foundational knowledge or preparing for high-stakes exams.

I have taught and supported students across a wide range of academic levels, primarily traditional college-aged learners as well as adult students returning to school. My experience spans both classroom instruction and individualized support, and I have helped many students improve performance quickly, particularly in the weeks leading up to exams. My goal as a tutor is to provide efficient, focused support that builds confidence and leads to a measurable increase in student understanding.
