My name is Grace and I am a current college student in my last semester studying Pre-Medical Preparation and Biology with a minor in Spanish. I graduate in December and am excited to move on to the next portion of my academic journey. I am currently applying to medical schools and have recently taken the MCAT in June. I scored in the 84th percentile with a 512 and would love to help students achieve success with this difficult exam, along with any of the courses that it covers. I currently hold a 3.98 GPA in my undergraduate studies and have been on the Dean’s List all semesters of my college career. I also received an Excellence in General Chemistry Award from the chemistry department in 2023 for performing well in both general chemistry courses.
My academic success didn’t start in college, though. I graduated high school in 2022 with a 4.34 GPA and was sixth in my class of 350 students. I took 7 AP courses including Human Geography, US History, Chemistry, Computer Science, Biology, Language and Composition, and Biology and was able to start college with lots of credits.
I currently do not have any formal experiences in tutoring, but I do have confidence in my study skills and the knowledge that I have gained throughout my pre-med journey. I would love to make meaningful connections with students and support them throughout their academic journey by sharing these skills. I often help classmates with complex topics and hope that I can extend that to prospective students. I also hope that fellow pre-meds can use my experiences in their own journeys as they begin the long road to becoming a physician.
Through tutoring, I hope to reinforce student’s understanding of concepts they are learning along with my own. I believe that learning is collaborative, and that students may even teach me new things as I am helping them understand a difficult concept. In this way, I want to create a casual relationship in which students feel comfortable and confident to ask any questions they need without fear of judgement.
