I have a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Piano Performance that I got at the University of West Florida and the University of South Alabama, respectively. Hello everyone! I am a Costa Rican born-and-raised-classical pianist. I am currently working on my doctorate in Piano Performance at Ball State University, in Muncie, Indiana, with a minor in Music Theory and Composition.
In my years of study, I have played in many concerts as a soloist and as a collaborative pianist. I have taken 9 semesters of Ear Training and have taught 4 semesters of Freshman and Sophomore Ear Training in college. I have also taught Freshman Music Theory. As part of my assistantship in graduate school, I have tutored students one on one as well.
With all this experience, I believe I am your person to tutor high school students and college students in music theory and ear training. As a trained classical pianist, as well as praise band pianist I am capable at helping students in their piano skills, as it relates to performance, playing by ear, or in relation to understanding music theory.
