Very knowledgeable and patient teacher

With help of 12 lessons from Marc, My son scored 98/100 in the California Merit of Certificate theory exam and Scored 5 in AP music theory exam. My friends' son also took lessons from Marc, and he scored 5 in his AP music theory exam too. My son's school does not provide AP music class, so it's such a blessing that we found Marc as my son's teacher. Marc is very patient, respectful, and encouraging with my son. My son loved to take lessons from him and was motivated to learn. I very highly recommend him.

Highly recommended for AP Music Theory!

Dr. Marc was really helpful in tutoring me in Music Theory to help me prepare for the AP Music Theory exam, which I got a 5 on! He was especially knowledgeable in ear training. Before I knew Dr. Marc, I was struggling a lot with the dictations, especially harmonic dictations for the AP exam, but through each session, Dr. Marc helped me improve my listening and dictation skills and we went through exercises really thoroughly, and as well as receiving a 5 in the non-aural section, I received a 5 in the aural section too! He also helped me improve sight singing. He is super knowledgeable and loves to teach, so I was excited for every session! I would highly recommend Dr. Marc for anyone at any proficiency level.

Great AP Music Theory Tutor

My son took two lessons with Marc before the AP music theory test in May. He has played piano for 9 years and had a good foundation with basic theory but not familiar with AP test format especially the FRQs. Marc worked with my son to get him up to speed on FRQs and also shared with him tips and strategies. He got 5 in his test and is very happy with the result. Marc was patient, knowledgeable and has tons of experience. We highly recommend Marc if you want to be well prepared for the AP Music Theory test.

Knowledgeable and patient tutor

I learned so much about certain idioms in part writing and how to get faster at writing in chords in root position as well as first inversion. I also was reminded of how important the note qualities are when part writing.

Best composition tutor ever

Professor Marc is knowledgeable and patient. He adjusts the content according to the child's level and my 8 year old son gains a lot of new knowledge with each class. My kids enjoy every lesson and happy to do his homework. Professor Marc's class is exactly what I am looking for my son. Highly recommended for kids who love music theory or composition.

Very smart, knowledgeable guy

I. Appreciate that Marc is doing research on the side to learn how to devise a curriculum specifically for an adult learner of music theory who sings. His pedagogical training and instincts are a big advantage.

Knowledgeable, effective, patient tutor!

Professor Marc is so knowledgeable, not just in music theory field, but also the education of various aspects of being a musician. He packed lots of knowledge points in his lesson, in a fun and clearly spoken/explained fashion! Professor Marc adjusted his teaching according to the student' individual need and characteristics, very skilled at effective teaching with great encouragement and support, which motivated learning. My child is fairly young - 9 years old, but he was very engaged during the hour-long lesson, he said the lesson was full of "thrill and exuberance", because his teacher can makes music "alive"! Highly recommend Professor Marc!
