I am currently a continuing lecturer at a university Cultural Exchange program. I help international students gain more comfort and confidence in all aspects of English (listening, speaking, reading, and writing). Before this, I taught for one year at a different university in an English intensive program, and two and a half years at a state university's English Language Institute. I received my Master's in English - TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). I also have experience teaching English in Seoul, South Korea for two years.
I enjoy teaching students from all over the world and different cultures because I feel like I learn from my students as much as they learn from me. I maintain the principle that all students should be respected and play an active role in their learning from the beginning all the way to advanced levels. The goal is to help students get to the point where they will not need my help or services because they feel comfortable using English and learning on their own.
If you use me as your tutor, you can expect me to be prepared for every lesson, do my best to explain everything to you in a way that is easy and clear to understand, and to ask you to do certain assignments/homework on your own. I will expect the same from you as well, that you are ready for each lesson, willing to try your best, and complete assignments/homework on time.
Thank you for your interest in my services to help you become more comfortable with English! I am currently a continuing lecturer at a university Cultural Exchange program. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
