Greetings! My name is Felice. I graduated from Purdue University with a double major in History and Spanish, have a teaching license in Historical Perspectives and English Language Arts, and completed a Master's from Purdue in Latin American Literature.

My first job during high school was at an after-school program working with children ranging from preschool to fifth grade, and my passion for working in education has continued ever since! Over the past ten years, I have worked as a tutor...

Greetings! My name is Felice. I graduated from Purdue University with a double major in History and Spanish, have a teaching license in Historical Perspectives and English Language Arts, and completed a Master's from Purdue in Latin American Literature.

My first job during high school was at an after-school program working with children ranging from preschool to fifth grade, and my passion for working in education has continued ever since! Over the past ten years, I have worked as a tutor with preschoolers up until adults, in daycare centers as a teaching assistant, at elementary and middle schools as a substitute teacher, at a high school as a para-professional in the Special Education Department, as a high school English teacher, and at Purdue University as a Limited-Term Lecturer.

Although my greatest passion is World History, I currently work as a full-time English teacher, with experience teaching both English Literature, and ESL. I am fluent in Spanish and have experience both teaching and tutoring for the language.

Before becoming a full-time teacher, I worked as a para-professional for my current school's Special Education Department. Although I helped wherever I was needed, I mainly assisted with English and History student support and tutoring.

I currently teach English at a high school. I have taught four different levels of English as a New Language, with students from over 15 different countries. I teach beginner's level ("Hi, my name is...") up to intermediate (reading short stories, creating presentations, and writing multiple paragraphs). I have also worked as a teaching assistant to support ESL students in math, history, science, and English literature classes.

During that time, I assisted students by proofreading their high school and college assignments before they turned them in. Additionally, I proofread work of fellow undergraduate and graduate students throughout my 6 years at Purdue University. Lastly, I spent two years proofreading children's books, research materials, and marketing materials in both English and Spanish.

I went to a full-immersion IB school (PYP, MYP, and DP) and studied Spanish from the age of 3 until graduating high school. I then spent nearly a year living between different Spanish-speaking countries and went on to earn both a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Spanish from Purdue University. I have taught intermediate-level Spanish courses at a university level and have tutored children and high school students in Spanish.

In addition to having a Bachelor's degree in History, my student teaching and initial Teaching License were both in History. As part of my student teaching, I taught a 8th grade US History and 9th grade World History. I also worked as a long-term substitute teacher for the US History class. As part of my MA in Latin American Literature, I became highly informed on Latin American and Spanish history.

I am currently a high school English Language Arts teacher. I teach a unit on fiction and creative writing, a unit on persuasive writing, and a unit on how to write a research paper. I mainly work with older teenagers and adults, but have experience with middle school students as well.
