I’m excited to support you on your learning journey. I bring 11 years of experience as an elementary special education teacher and a K–12 teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH). I graduated from Ball State University, with a Bachelors degree in Special Education (Mild Intervention K-12) and Deaf and Hard of Hearing (K-12). I have also recently completed the Keys to Literacy endorsement.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with students with a wide range of learning needs and communication styles, and I’ve learned that every child thrives when instruction is individualized, accessible, and built on mutual trust. My tutoring approach is warm, patient, and highly personalized. I begin by getting to know each student’s strengths, challenges, and learning preferences. From there, I create structured, engaging lessons that incorporate visual supports, multi-sensory strategies, and clear routines. For my DHH students, I focus on accessible communication, language development, and strategies that empower them to confidently navigate both academic and social settings.

I believe that learning should feel safe, encouraging, and achievable. I work closely with families to set shared goals and celebrate growth every step of the way. Whether your child needs academic support, communication strategies, or confidence building, I’m here to help them succeed—and to make the process enjoyable and meaningful.

Executive Functioning

I have extensive experience supporting students in developing executive functioning skills such as organization, time management, task initiation, and self-monitoring. Through my work with students in special education, including those with mild disabilities and deaf or hard of hearing needs, I provide explicit instruction and structured strategies that help learners plan, prioritize, and complete tasks independently. I regularly collaborate with educators and families to implement systems like visual schedules, checklists, and goal-setting routines that build long-term independence. My approach focuses on teaching practical, transferable skills that empower students to manage academic demands and everyday responsibilities with confidence. I also homeschool my own children - one of which struggles with severe ADHD.

I am skilled in developing and implementing IEPs, providing direct instruction, and adapting curriculum using auditory, visual, and language-accessible strategies, including spoken language, and assistive listening technology.
