Hello, I'm Emma! I have a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a minor Spanish as well as a master’s degree in Social Work and recently have obtained my LCSW. During college and for a couple of years post-college, I worked as a Spanish Tutor as well as an Organizational Tutor. As a Spanish tutor I greatly enjoyed exploring the language and helping my peers build on their own Spanish language skills. I can support students who are in introductory-level Spanish. Through organizational tutoring I supported a couple of peers in creating a school and life balance through helping them make sure they were completing daily assignments to planning and breaking down larger ones as well as creating a consistent, but also flexible schedule for them to follow. I greatly enjoyed the collaboration that would take place through these tutoring sessions as the students gained and practiced new skills.

I have also done volunteer after school tutoring at several elementary schools, helping students specifically improve their reading skills. I always get excited when a student has an "aha" moment where everything we have been working on seems to come together for the student. I believe everyone should have an equitable opportunity to learn and I love that through being a tutor I can help provide some of that support. Over the last few years I have worked as a school social worker.

I have also worked with students on preparing for state testing through incorporating reading comprehension worksheets and writing activities.

I have supported several individuals from elementary school to college-aged students with managing their workload and creating balanced daily schedules. Together we work to breakdown larger assignments and set artificial deadlines before a larger assignment is due. Intelligent, encouraging, and awesome tutor!

Emma helped me (a senior in high school) with my online AP Spanish course. Everyday she was very encouraging and helped me with my classwork. I felt comfortable speaking in Spanish with her, because she is very patient and kind. With grammar and conjugations that I didn't understand or hadn't learned, she taught me and helped me practice to become more comfortable with them. She even provided extra materials (like audios, articles, and videos with questions) to better my Spanish skills! She went above and beyond, and I am super grateful! When I took my AP Spanish test, I felt very confident, and all the practice that she did with me my entire senior year, helped me to prepare for it! So, thank you so much Emma!
