14-Yr HS Math Teacher | Geometry, SAT & AP Prep | AP Stats Reader

Reuben B.

As a high school math teacher with 14 years of classroom experience, I specialize in helping students build genuine mathematical confidence. My background includes teaching Algebra, Geometry, Calculus, and AP Statistics, as well as serving as an official AP Statistics exam reader. Over my career, I have supported diverse learners—from advising college access programs to providing one-on-one interventions for homebound students.

Beyond the classroom, I author learning materials, including an SAT prep curriculum and book (5 Steps to a 500+) designed to help students reach college readiness benchmarks. I also run an educational channel with over 200 videos covering Geometry, SAT Prep, AP Statistics, Calculus, and study strategies.

A Tailored Approach to Learning
Every student has unique needs, so I avoid a one-size-fits-all model. I focus on understanding your student's current course dynamics. Students can bring their own homework, or I can draw from an extensive repertoire of curricula, including Math Medic, All Things Algebra, DeltaMath, Khan Academy, and Flipped Math. Knowing the strengths of each platform allows me to supplement effectively.

AP Exam Coaching & Insider Insights
For AP students, I coach through the exact lens of an AP grader. Having attended multiple AP Summer Institutes for Calculus and Statistics and graded over 3,000 official AP free-response questions as an AP Reader, I know precisely what readers look for. In my classroom, 2/3 of my AP Statistics students earn a 3 or higher on the national exam. I help students master the strategic, analytical skills that College Board exams target.
