*** Does your classroom teacher go too fast when teaching a lesson?
*** Are you easily distracted? Do you have trouble staying focused in school?
*** Do you still have questions at the end of class after being taught a new concept?
*** Do you comprehend things better when it is broken down into smaller pieces?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, I AM YOUR TUTOR! I am patient and fully understand that we all have different learning styles that require patience.

Study Skills

Study Skills

Study skills require organization and tools in order to be successful. I have implemented two different types of study and organizational skills with my students as well as my own children. 1. Keep a daily log/calendar of each task that needs to be completed. 2. Prioritize each item by importance as well as date. 3. Solicit the assistance of a peer and/or an adult to accomplish goal/task. I strongly encourage all my students to keep an electronic copy of their tasks as well. To additionally keep student organized, I encourage a binder/folder for each subject. This allows the student to monitor the daily requirements of each subject.

Wonderful Tutor!!!

Angela exceeds every expectation we had of a tutor. Our son loves her personality and how she engages him during sessions. As a parent, I value the constant feedback and her willingness to give us stretch assignments for him to work on between sessions. We are seeing tremendous improvement in our son.

Interested, Concerned and Patient.

My first tutoring session with Angela was great! She takes the time to dig deep to see what could be causing the academic issues. She assesses and analyzes the student to ensure she is able to correctly identify the learning style and learning problem. Her patient and concerned attitude makes a parent feel they are not alone with these struggles. She also makes you feel that there is actually a light at the end of the tunnel.

Hugely Helpful!!

Angela is helping my son with his study and organizational habits. He has ADHD, which makes time management, organization and structure very, very challenging. Angela relates well with him and gives him tools without removing his personal accountability. I highly recommend Angela for her tutoring expertise! Thank you!

Angela is WONDERFUL! Results being seen IMMEDIATELY!

I found Angela through WyzAnt as she was one of the first to respond to my request for help with my stepson - a junior in high school. He has been unmotivated, lacking in organization, and not turning homework in. We met with Angela for just one session to get to know her and saw results IMMEDIATELY! My stepson was motivated just after meeting with her. She is very patient but straight to the point. She has clever ideas for helping with organization and keeping track of homework assignments. She got to know my stepson and what might work for him - knowing everyone is different. After ONE tutoring session my stepson is excited about what HE can possibly achieve in the last two years of high school. Angela is working on reading comprehension to help with ECA testing this fall. I can't say enough good things!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND ANGELA if you and your child are struggling.

Relates well with teenagers, even those who have different learning styles.

Angela has been a great tutor for our Son who is 16 and going into 10th grade. We reached out to Angela due to her background working with kids with different learning styles and who have ADHD. Her first lesson was helping our son organize his binders and just getting to know him more and what style of learning would work best for him. She is easy to reach by phone or email and she provides a detailed summary of what was covered in each lesson. In addition to helping our son in content learning, she is also helping him improve his organization and study skills.
