Hello! My name is Micca, and I am a Butler University student with a strong passion for languages and language learning. I am fluent in English, speak Korean conversationally, and am currently studying French and Chinese. As a language learner myself, I understand how challenging it can feel to start a new language, which is why I focus on creating a supportive, encouraging environment for beginners. I am especially interested in helping students build confidence from the very beginning and feel comfortable making mistakes as part of the learning process.
My tutoring experience has primarily been in one-on-one and small-group settings with beginner learners and children. I design short, structured lessons that focus on foundational French skills such as basic vocabulary, pronunciation, simple grammar, and introductory conversation. My teaching approach is student-centered and flexible, meaning I adapt lessons to each student’s age, learning style, and goals. I enjoy using interactive methods such as games, visuals, repetition, and short dialogues to keep lessons engaging and accessible, particularly for younger students.
Although I do not yet hold formal teaching certifications, I am actively building hands-on tutoring experience and am committed to continuing my growth as an educator. Teaching allows me to stay engaged with the French language while helping students develop curiosity and confidence in their learning. I especially enjoy working with beginners and young learners who are new to French and want a positive, low-pressure introduction to the language. I look forward to supporting students as they take their first steps in learning French.
