As a bilingual computer science educator raised in a dual language border community, I know firsthand how access to coding can transform futures. I’ve taught AP Computer Science Principles, elementary coding, and adult digital literacy, all with a focus on making tech approachable for students of color, bilingual learners, and first-time coders. My tutoring sessions support Blockly, Scratch, Python, and more, tailored for beginners or those seeking a deeper understanding. Whether you’re building games, websites, or your confidence in tech, I’ll help you code with purpose and pride.

As a certified 4–12 English Language Arts teacher, I’ve taught condensed ELA courses to middle and high school students, including speech, social-emotional learning (SEL), and STAAR English I & II prep. I helped raise ELA passing rates from 15% to over 80% within one semester using data -driven strategies, culturally sustaining texts, and differentiated instruction. I bring strong skills in scaffolding rigorous texts for multilingual learners while maintaining high standards of academic excellence. My classroom promotes voice, identity, and access to grade-level literacy.

ESL/ESOL

As a certified ESL teacher with roots on the U.S.–Mexico border, I bring a deep understanding of language, identity, and educational access to every tutoring session. I’ve taught English as a Second Language to both K–12 students and adult immigrants, helping them build confidence, fluency, and academic language across reading, writing, speaking, and listening. My approach combines cultural relevance with practical skill-building, ensuring that students not only learn English but also thrive in it. Whether preparing for exams, interviews, or school success, I make language learning supportive, affirming, and effective.

Literature

As a bilingual ELA educator and borderland native, I help students connect literature to their own lived experiences and cultural identities. I’ve taught English and Literature across grades 6–12, guiding students through a range of materials, from classic novels to slam poetry, always centering on voice, relevance, and critical thinking. Whether preparing for STAAR or ILEARN, class essays, or deep reading discussions, I help students build the confidence and skills to succeed. My tutoring supports multilingual learners, heritage readers, and anyone ready to see themselves reflected in what they read.
