I am a certified high school teacher with a strong background in U.S. history, civics, and English language arts (I've written a couple of books too!). I currently teach Dual Credit U.S. History and English, which require college-level reading, writing, and analytical skills. My training focuses on helping students read complex texts, write clearly, and think critically.

Teaching & Tutoring Experience

I have several years of experience working with students in grades 10–12 in both classroom and tutoring settings. I’ve taught large classes, small groups, and provided one-on-one academic support. As a tutor, I help students strengthen reading comprehension, improve writing and organization, prepare for exams, and build confidence with challenging material.

My tutoring style is straightforward and supportive. I break skills into clear steps, model expectations, and guide students toward independence. I focus on practical strategies—how to read a passage, how to organize an argument, and how to approach assessments—so students can apply what they learn beyond our sessions.

I’ve worked with a wide range of learners, from students who need skill reinforcement to high-achieving students pursuing college credit. My experience in college-aligned courses allows me to help students meet higher academic expectations while staying approachable and encouraging.
