I am an elementary teacher, and hold a Master's degree in Educational Leadership. I have been teaching for nearly 20 years, and still my students never cease to amaze me. I have six children of my own. I have loved being a part of each student's triumphs. I have extensive training in reading instruction and interventions. I am also Montessori certified in early childhood education. I believe in the student's potential and focus on meeting a student at their level and building upon strengths to extend knowledge and produce growth.
I understand how busy and complicated life can get; therefore, I will be willing to reschedule sessions if necessary.
When working with a student, I provide direct instruction followed with guided practice before requiring the individual to complete the task alone. Through this process, I am able to identify any need for researching or clarification. I provide feedback for the student and parent and request feedback on my performance as well. Tutoring sessions will require a relatively quiet location that is free of distractions. My lessons often involve hands on manipulatives or active learning so a table or small floor space may be required.
I look forward to hearing from you and assisting you or your child in finding a love of learning!
