With more than a year of experience as a local algebra tutor in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and over five years of combined teaching and mentorship work, I am passionate about helping students truly understand math rather than just memorize it.

I graduated high school at 17 after scoring a 780 out of 800 on the SAT math section, and I later earned my BFA in Film Studies from the University of Colorado Boulder. That background in visual storytelling has shaped how I teach. As a visual learner myself, I naturally break down complex concepts using diagrams, real-world examples, and multiple explanations tailored to each student’s learning style—whether they need step-by-step verbal walkthroughs, hands-on practice, or visual aids.

I have primarily worked one-on-one with middle school and high school boys and girls in algebra and other math topics. My approach is patient and encouraging. I focus not only on helping students arrive at the right answers and improve their grades, but also on building a strong foundational understanding of the concepts so they feel confident moving forward.

Many of my students have been able to get ahead in their classes and reduce their anxiety around math. Before focusing on tutoring, I spent six years as a wedding videographer, where I mentored newer videographers and collaborated with a wide variety of clients. Those experiences strengthened my ability to communicate clearly, adapt quickly, and support people of different ages and backgrounds.

I’m committed to creating a supportive, low-pressure environment where students can ask questions freely and make steady progress. Whether a student is struggling with the basics or looking to excel, I tailor each session to their individual needs and goals.
