Hi my name is Sruthika and I am a senior undergraduate student at the University of Southern Indiana currently applying for medical school! Having gone through the process of preparing to apply for medical school and studying for the MCAT, on which I scored 95th percentile (518), I have been motivated to pass on my knowledge and help other aspiring pre-medical and STEM-focused students succeed! My teaching style is heavily focused on understanding content in-depth and utilizing active recall to help consolidate content into your memory. I believe I have insight on how standardized testing works and want to help students realize how to decode the logic of the MCAT and break down question stems. I offer a free-of-charge consultation to understand how you learn best so I can tailor my sessions to meet you wherever you are at on the learning process!
My qualifications for tutoring come from my previous job working off campus a one-on-one private tutor for AP subjects and SAT/ACT test prep for high schoolers. I have even helped one student improve his SAT score from 1200 to 1400 and helped him gain admission to Harvard. On campus, I have also worked as a small group supplemental instructor for courses such as General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry to help students succeed in challenging classes and receive an A. I also work on campus as a general tutor for Chemistry, Biology, Physics, and Psychology, helping many students learn how to study effectively for difficult classes and improve their study habits. I have been a straight A 4.0 GPA student in both high school and college, and so I can help you learn how to manage your time during a stressful time of applying for medical schools and show you how to stand out! Beyond the MCAT, my other credentials are that I have taken both the SAT and ACT and got a 1540 and 34, respectively. I have also taken and received a 5 on the AP Chemistry, AP Biology, AP Psychology, and AP Language and Composition exams.
Thank you and I can't wait to help you on your journey!
