About Tehillah

Bio

I have been teaching oboe and English horn lessons to middle school, high school and college students for almost 10 years! I also teach reed-making and sell reeds. I have students that receive top Solo/Ensemble prizes in Indiana, go to State Honor Band and receive scholarships for college. I perform with a few professional groups in Indiana and teach at Bethel University.

I got my BM and MM in music performance on the oboe from Ball State University.

I have a Bachelor's and Master's in Music Performance on the oboe and English horn. I took years of oboe lessons, given recitals and performed with several professional orchestras. During my Master's, I was the teaching assistant and therefore assisted the oboe professor in teaching oboe lessons and reed-making as a well as coaching chamber ensembles. I have taught private oboe lessons in my home and in local school districts for the last 6+ years.
Sight Singing

Sight Singing

During my Bachelor's in Music Performance, I did well taking 2 years of sight singing classes. I learned solfege and how to sight-read songs using solfege. I use these sight-reading skills in everyday life as a musician whether I'm reading a hymn book at church, playing the oboe, or creating music. I have also used my skills to teach others in a church setting.

Great Oboe Teacher!

Tehillah has been teaching my 11 year old son the Oboe instrument for the past couple of months. She's very patient, knowledgeable and communicates very well. We are extremely happy with his progress and hopes he continues to develop his skills and love of Oboe.
