My name is Nicholas (you can call me Nick, though). I have loved science ever since I was a kid, and there was always something that intrigued me about how things managed to live in this crazy little world of ours. My passion for science and my curiosity for how life functions lead me to earn a BS and PhD in microbiology. While earning my degrees, I have worked as a research assistant and assistant instructor. I have done research on several human pathogens studying how they cause disease, evade the immune system, and evolve. I have taught laboratories in microbiology, biotechnology, pathogenesis, and genetics as well as lectures in molecular biology.
I believe that science is a language. Languages can be confusing and intimidating when you are first trying to learn them. But fluency can come by taking the time to understand how the language works and how it speaks to you. I hope to serve as your guide to this new language and help you gain an appreciation for the scientific world around you.
Coursework for my BS and PhD degrees included classes in general biology, genetics, molecular biology, and various courses in microbiology. I have excelled in all of these courses, and hope to be able to help you excel too! As for the ACT, I took the test four times in high school, with an overall high score of 31 and a ACT science score of 35.
