Hi! My name is Scott. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the United States Naval Academy as well as two Masters of Science (GPA 3.7) from Naval Postgraduate School in Mechanical Engineering and Applied Physics.

Hi! My name is Scott. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the United States Naval Academy as well as two Masters of Science (GPA 3.7) from Naval Postgraduate School in Mechanical Engineering and Applied Physics.

I am a retired Naval Officer with over 20 years of experience in training, personal and academic development. I have mentored and tutored young people and adults with a variety of backgrounds as they completed military qualifications. With my Naval training in Nuclear Engineering, I have a solid basis for understanding of science and mathematical concepts and can work through many types of problems.

My tutoring philosophy is to make the learning experience interesting and tailored to each person's specific needs to help someone better understand concepts applied to real-life examples. I enjoy seeing people succeed in their personal growth and understanding of challenging problems. I also strive to provide the best customer service and value for your time and money.

I hold active PMP, ASQ Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and EIT certifications. I have experience in project management and am a working Engineer that works on teams with other Engineers of different backgrounds. I can help with test prep (such as AFOQT, ASVAB, PMP and Florida's PERT) to raise scores in areas such as math, reading comprehension and writing. I also work with people to create better resumes and essays and to perform better in oral presentations and job interviews.

Knowledgeable and very Patient Tutor!

When I reached out to Scott regarding IT course tutoring for my kid, he was quick and prompt to respond. Scott is such an awesome and a patient tutor who actually teaches by explaining all the difficult concepts and areas of the assignments. During lessons, Scott showed complete knowledge of the subject matter of the concepts and helped work through the assignments by first explaining the steps so that my kid could learn the process of tackling the questions step by step. He was not just tutoring but he guided my kid to navigate the problem areas to completion. Scott indeed is well knowledgeable in the subject matter and a pleasant tutor who is very patient. I would highly recommend Scott.

Understanding, open, and patient tutor

Very helpful, we had a tight time to study for an exam. We started off from the beginning and it brought my math knowledge back up with a better understanding of what to study. This was a great tutor for me to learn everything I forgot. Would go for it again if I needed help.

Knowledgeable and patient tutor

I was really lost in making my Data flow diagrams and how to think them through to make them be in scope with one another and Scott knew exactly what needed to be done to get them in scope with my FDD diagram and DFD0 and DFD1s. I had probably 7 or 8 lessons with Scott and they were worthwhile since I was able to get knowledge in making them for my sprints. Scott is worth the time if any help is needed in Project Management/Systems Analyst and Design related topics.
