I graduated cum laude with a Bachelor's degree in Humanities and Latin with an emphasis in Classical Studies and a minor in Ancient Greek. (A mouthful, I know!) During the course of my undergraduate work, my advisor encourage me to apply to an university tutoring position, which ended up being possibly my favourite part of undergrad. I tutored for both introductory and advanced Latin, as well as a selection of Classics and Religious Studies courses. Many of these courses served as "Critical Thinking" or "Writing Intensive" credits, so I worked with a wide variety of students, including those which had no prior experience in the subject area, and students who were writing their first college essay.
Tutoring needs are very individual, so tutoring sessions should be as well! You know what works best for you, and I'm more than willing to adjust lesson plans and meetings to best help you.
I have a B.A in Latin, with extensive experience with both translation and composition. My familiarity with the language and many elements of it's literature allows me to easily teach to or clarify any problem points.
In addition, my learning and understanding of Latin grammar and structure was necessarily based on comprehensions of the accompanying elements of English. My experience as an undergraduate in both my Humanities and Latin degrees was based on a strong foundation of research, writing, and presentation, with various utilization of styles. While I prefer Chicago, I have some experience in all major styles.
Please reach out with any questions, or to schedule a lesson! I'll always get back to you as soon as possible.
