Experienced Educator Ready to Help You Succeed

Hi there! My name is Sarah, and I have been an educator for over 23 years, and I still love it as much as I did on day one. I have taught in 1st, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade classrooms, served as an ENL teacher for grades K–6, taught 6th grade math, and have tutored students through 7th and 8th grade as well. Across those years I have covered reading, writing, math, grammar, vocabulary, and computer science. I also have extensive experience supporting English Language Learners and students with IEPs and special needs. I have spent my career learning how to reach kids who learn differently, and that work is some of the most meaningful I have done.

Beyond the classroom, I have been tutoring one-on-one for over four years, and it is one of my favorite things to do. There is something special about giving a student your full, undivided attention — no 25 other kids waiting, just one child and a real conversation about what they need. I believe in meeting students exactly where they are, moving at their pace, and weaving in their interests and passions to make learning feel relevant. I hold a Master of Education and have worked within the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme, which shaped how I think about curiosity-driven, student-centered learning.

I hold my students to high standards, but I also know how to read a room. I can tell when a child needs to be pushed a little further and when they need a breather, and I think that instinct matters as much as any lesson plan. In math especially, I love incorporating games that build number sense and make practice genuinely fun. Learning should feel like an adventure, not a chore, and I work hard to make sure every student leaves a session feeling capable and confident.
