I offer decades of experience in tutoring and private lessons in Italian, English, and Music. As a graduate student at Indiana Univeristy in Bloomington, I taught all levels of undergraduate Italian language, and was the Italian Laguage Associate Instructor coordinator and supervisor for several semesters. My English tutoring experience has focused on writing skills, vocabulary and comprehension, and English as a second language. I have taught private lessons in music focusing on music history, electric bass, and acoustic guitar. I was fortunate enough to be chosen as an Italian language instructor for Indiana University's Summer Abroad program for undergraduates in 2000, which was based in Florence.
My personal background set me up to succeed as a student of Italian, English, and music. My mother emigrated from Italy a few years before I was born, and she taught me Italian before I learned English. My father is a third-generation professional musician, and I have studied and played various instruments as well as theory and history since the age of 4. I have toured the U.S. and Europe as a bass player in bands, and I have played in several student symphonies and orchestras as a violist. Attending the Canterbury School in Fort Wayne, Indiana, from kindergarten through 12th grade afforded me the opportunity to focus on academics, take several AP courses and tests, and excel at English Literature and composition.
My mission as a teacher and tutor is to furnish the practical information and skills that the student is seeking. I prioritize listening to the students' desires, goals, and expectations in every personal learning setting in order to maximize their investment and experience, as opposed to bringing agendas or ideologies of my own into the collaboration.

General Music

I have toured professionally as a bassist with Austin Lucas, The Watson Twins, and Racebannon, multiple times across the U.S. as well as in Europe. As a student, I performed as a violist in the Yale Symphony and the Yale Bach Society, and as a baritone/bass in the Yale Russian Chorus. I've studied formal music theory and history extensively at the undergraduate and graduate level, and I studied Jazz Improvisation with professor David Baker at Indiana University. I come from 4 generations of working musicians and music teachers, and I have taught private lessons in classical and pop history, all levels of electric bass, and beginner/intermediate guitar.
