My name is Arthur. I was born in New Jersey but raised in central Indiana. I’ve always liked being outdoors, playing sports, and meeting new people. Back in high school, I was a varsity lacrosse player, and for work, I was a math tutor. I worked with a company called Mathnasium for two years, instructing students K-12 on Mathnasium’s curriculum and on the school curriculum as well. I love to work with students of all ages and have always had a passion for math. My tutoring style is all about using easy-to-understand word choice, and reminding students how to do the simple version of a problem, then going to the more complex version. I also like to use little acronyms and memory tricks so that the tricks I teach for math problems stick for a long time. I’m attending Indiana University this year to study Mathematics on a pre-med track, and am planning to go to medical school after college.
To add on, I have tutored privately for three years, working with friends, family, and classmates. I’m very good with Geometry, Algebra I and II, Pre-Calculus, Statistics, Calculus I and II, and Finite Math. Along with my teaching experience are my test scores. I have a perfect 800 math score on my SAT, a perfect 36 math score on my ACT, and a perfect 5 on my AP Calc AB exam. I use Zoom for my sessions so students can learn from the comfort of their own homes.
