Hello everyone! My name is Nikhil M. and I'm a freshman at Indiana University studying finance and medicine, with a minor in mathematics. I graduated summa cum laude from Bellbrook High School last year with a GPA over 4.0.
I've been teaching for as long as I can remember, even dating back to my elementary school days. Over time, I've realized that the classes I enjoy and learn from the most are ones with enjoyable, engaging teachers. Those teachers that go above and beyond to adapt to each student's diverse learning needs, or are willing to go the extra mile to provide additional help and clarification, are some of the most inspirational figures in my life. Because of this, after college, I've considered pursuing a career in the education industry, with in secondary or post-secondary, school. I truly enjoy teaching and getting to know my students personally, which allows me to adapt my teaching style to each student's unique learning needs!
I've served as a peer tutor in my school district for the last 5 years, helping students across 5 different grade levels, even being selected as a tutor in my high school's learning lab, a classroom designed to help students that struggle with comprehending new material. I can tutor almost any subject, as I have taken a wide variety of classes in each area, but I specialize in teaching math and science.
I also served as the head tutor at Kumon North America, Washington Township for the past 2 years, where I specialized in helping students from ages 4-16. I taught a wide variety of topics, ranging from basic letter recognition to Shakespeare, and simple addition to multivariable calculus. In this role, I also served as the front desk receptionist, so I plenty of experience interacting with parents and handling any concerns brought to me!
In my free time, I enjoy playing tennis, watching sports (primarily the Ohio State Buckeyes and Columbus Blue Jackets), hanging out with friends, and playing video games. I'm also kind of a weather nerd :)
