I was born and raised in South Tyrol, Italy a bilingual (German/Italian) region in northern Italy. My native language is both German and Italian. After graduating from high school (a teacher training institution) I pursued a Master's degree at the University of Vienna in Austria. There is also where I began to teach German and Italian in language schools such as Berlitz. Subsequently I received a Master's degree and high school teacher certification (German and Italian, minor Education) from Indiana University in Bloomington. Taught German and Italian for beginner/intermediate advanced at college, high school including home schoolers and private lessons ages 14 and up for over 15 years. Currently teaching a class of G250 at IU Bloomington. My method of teaching is based on the communicative approach with a healthy balance in all aspects of language learning (speaking, listening/reading comprehension, grammar and cultural aspects). My biggest strength is the ability to tailor lessons to each individual needs and interest. I have taught extensively in both settings one on one and larger groups.
