I currently tutor Special Needs students at McHenry County College in Education, Early Childhood Education, Art History, Art Appreciation, Drawing and Psychology. I received my Bachelor Degree in Psychology in 2002 and am finishing up my Masters in Liberal Arts with an emphasis in Global Studies this year.
I have been tutoring students for over 6 years and find my time spent with each student the most rewarding. My tutoring methods begin with finding the students' learning style in order to become confident and successful. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
