I am a Master's student at the University of Chicago studying Middle Eastern Studies. My research focuses on historical linguistics and comparative Semitics, and my coursework has been a healthy mix of languages, linguistics and anthropology. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Linguistics, with additional majors in Global & International Studies and in Arabic.
I previously tutored English and Spanish professionally for more than four years remotely. Soon after, I began teaching English, Math and History at a private school in the Chicago area. I have TA'd a number of courses at the University of Chicago as a graduate student, including Intro to Linguistics, Cognitive Science and Italian Renaissance.
I speak and write English, Spanish and Arabic at advanced/fluent levels, and I hold a certification in Arabic from the University of Chicago. Additionally, I am familiar with Hebrew, French, Urdu, German and Akkadian to varying degrees. I am comfortable teaching students in each of the above languages except German and Akkadian, which I understand only in writing.
I have taught students as young as 2, as well as many other ages, including adults. I prefer to teach students of at least age 12, but I am always open to all pupils. I hope you find this information useful, please reach out with any questions.
