Hi, I'm Austin! I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and a Master's in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA. During my college years, one thing I noticed is that classes weren't always taught with the "why" in mind. I found that understanding the "why" behind the ways things are done allows someone to be better prepared to understand and new material in the future and even solve types of problems they have never seen before. I focus on this concept in my teaching. I try to bring a fundamental understanding of the reason things work, not just tell you they do. My goal is to give you the foundation and understanding to feel confident don't just during our lessons, but in the class room and beyond.
I've tutored for 3 years at the college level for engineering students taking calculus 1 and 2. This was done in group setting and 1-on-1. I also teach a fundamentals of engineering preparation course that is aimed at helps students pass the standardized test that is the first step to becoming a licensed professional engineer.
I have a passion for helping students not only succeed in their courses but truly understand the material.
I specialize in tutoring high school and college students in subjects like Algebra, Calculus, Physics, Thermodynamics, and Fluid Mechanics. With both academic and industry experience, I bring a real-world perspective that helps connect complex concepts to practical applications. Whether you're preparing for an exam, stuck on homework, or just trying to gain confidence in a difficult class, I’m here to help.
My approach is to keep sessions focused, clear, and tailored to your needs. If you share topics in advance, I’ll come prepared with explanations and examples that make the material click. I'm patient, detail-oriented, and committed to helping you succeed.
If you’re ready to make progress in math or engineering — and want to actually understand what you’re doing — let’s get started.
