Timothy has provided examples of their subject expertise by answering **4 questions** submitted by students on Wyzant’s Ask an Expert.

## Very Knowledgeable and Helpful!!

Timothy had me coached up in just one hour to excel at my business calculus exam! 10/10 recommend!! He was very patient and does an amazing job at twisting the question in a way that it makes much more sense!

Emma, 1 lesson with Timothy

## Good explanations

I was able to understand statistics much better, problems started to make sense and I after a lesson I felt more confident in my ability to solve problems

Aislinn, 2 lessons with Timothy

## Very knowledgeable; kind, patient, and willing to explain

I am an undergraduate student at the University of Washington. Tim was able to help with my Calculus class even though it included a lot of Biological modeling (it was a course designed specifically for Biologists). He was familiar with my textbook and the material I was going over, whereas other tutors I have had in the past were confused about some of my problems. He is kind and patient and non-judgmental, even if you ask him to explain one thing many times. I would highly recommend Tim for your math needs.

## Timothy C. is simply the best Calculus tutor

Timothy C. is an expert tutor. I develop empirically validated curriculum for a living and I work with many subject matter experts who don't know diddly about instruction. Timothy knows calculus and how to get it across. If you can get on Timothy's schedule, just do it. He will help you in less time than you thought possible. My son, a strong student, got a first year AP Calculus teacher. The teacher, though well meaning, could not impart the material in a way that made sense. Many strong students struggled. Within a few sessions, my son was on track, understanding the material and renewing his confidence. We're sticking with Timothy C. for the year because he will ensure my son's success. He's a great guy too.

## Knowledgeable

Timothy is teaching Calculus BC to my daughter, who struggled with her homework. Timothy helped her to understand the concepts, and she is delighted with his skillset and teaching methods.

## Worst tutor ever. gave me the answers without teaching me the concepts

My daughter just had a lesson with this tutor and he was just complaining that he had 17 lessons today. He just gave her the answers without teaching her the concepts. He even responded to a question on how to solve a problem by saying "just solving it". Sloppy writing and he was not interest at all in helping out my daughter on solving the problems. Don't recommend this tutor at all.

Adriana, 2 lessons with TimothyTutor responded:The student was clearly frustrated with the content upon beginning the session. Concepts were discussed thoroughly with full details. Additional clarifications were given as needed. There were no complaints about the numbers of students on the given day, but the student was advised to schedule early as the schedule is typically very full with regular, satisfied students. Please read other reviews for a different perspective.

## Provides clear instruction

We covered some new stats concepts and the time spent was super helpful. Timothy is patient and he does a good job clarifying the stats material. Our ongoing sessions are helping me build confidence from week to week.

## Great approach

My reluctant mathematician was actually laughing during the lesson while they learned! Tim really made a good connection with them!
