Hi! I am Ella, and I am an undergraduate student at the University of Notre Dame. I have two years of experience working at a local tutoring company, tutoring students from all levels from grade school until senior year in high school. Having a passion for education and learning, I graduated as the Valedictorian of my high school. I have also been recognized as an Illinois State Scholar and an AP Scholar with Distinction. I specialize in all levels of grade school to high school math, history, and science, and I have supported the exponential growth of reading and writing standardized test scores of my students. Taking and passing 9 Advanced Placement classes throughout my career, I am well-equipped with the study tools and resources to support students throughout their rigorous course loads. Being a tutor has helped me redirect my worries and stresses outward: my objective is no longer solely focused on individually performing well but helping others achieve success.
Working part-time throughout high school as a tutor, I have built my knowledge on the need for patience and understanding with students. When tutoring, I try to build a balance of a sociable, welcoming approach and a disciplined attention to detail. After a few tutoring sessions, when my students recognize their vast capabilities and surprise me with their knowledge, I am filled with immense joy and pride. I focus on one-on-one appointments, helping students step-by-step with the questions they have on homework, study guides, or projects.
My goal is to help my students achieve their untapped potential that they can discover. Being a younger tutor, the information that students are learning is fresh and updated in my knowledge.
