About Sebastian

Bio

I am new to tutoring and have a passion for all things social studies! I did a brief stint in the legal field after my undergrad before realizing that my passion lies in education. I now work in a high school as an academic support coordinator where I work with, tutor, and advocate for some of the most at-risk students, and am also working on getting myself to and through grad school to become a certified teacher.

I am new to tutoring and have a passion for all things social studies! I did a brief stint in the legal field after my undergrad before realizing that my passion lies in education. I now work in a high school as an academic support coordinator where I work with, tutor, and advocate for some of the most at-risk students, and am also working on getting myself to and through grad school to become a certified teacher.

As seen elsewhere on my profile, I am able to assist with all things government, history, political science, and geography. I am also able to help with writing at all levels. If we seem like a good fit, but you are not sure that I can help with the subject you need, just ask!

I am very experienced with social studies at the high school level, having passed every history/government AP exam, while also graduating high school with the Distinction in Social Studies Award. I also acted as president of the Geography, Model United Nations, and YMCA Illinois Youth and Government clubs.

After high school, I majored in Political Science with a focus on International Relations and Comparative Politics and was a part of the Model United Nations and Mock Illinois Government clubs. I graduated cum laude with my Bachelor's Degree in 2 years, thanks most in part due to my vast reserve of AP credits from high school, and finished on the Dean's List in 3/4 of my semesters, missing only one semester due to the amount of non-graded courses I took during the infancy of COVID-19 pandemic.

As for my personal life, I love camping, kayaking, collecting music, playing guitar, and spending time with my loved ones and my two dogs! I am also a bit of a nerd and love all things Marvel and Star Wars. I hope we can get to know each other, learn a lot, and have some fun along the way!

Uses a brilliant strategy for teaching!

Thank you Sebastian for booking with me the same day I requested help on my assignments. You were incredibly helpful. I went to him feeling overwhelmed and stressed but left the meeting feeling like I had my power back, energized, and refreshed. We have another meeting scheduled and I’m looking forward to improving my grade and learning in my National Government course with his guidance and support. Sebastian is an expert tutor.
