Hello! You must be looking at this because you find Physics very challenging. I'd love to help! I have taught various levels of physics to public and private high school students for 20 years. On the AP Physics B exam, almost half of my students earn scores of 5, the highest score possible, while most of the other half receive scores of 4! In addition to teaching physics, I am also an instructional coach, hired to help high school science and math teachers improve their professional practice. I have four children of my own, and am currently tutoring my eldest in ACT math and science. Allow me the opportunity to help you see that physics is not only understandable, but that physics is Phun!

My son received his first lesson with Joe last evening, and it was a great experience. Joe was very patient and understanding, and very visual in his teaching method. That was extremely helpful to my son. I feel very confident that Joe will help him in Physics as well as increasing his ACT scores. We are looking forward to lesson #2!
Joe has an excellent ability to quickly grasp what or where the student is stuck on and can, and does walk through a problem step by step to enlighten them. Great teacher!
Joe had an immediate plan of action to help me with College of Dupage Physics 1201. I'm really not getting information presented in the way I understand. But Joe used an app on his iPad that i could watch as he wrote out the information. Then it was emailed to me. I could then rewatch the full audio & video & take notes at my own pace. I could watch it from my iPhone so I don't have to lug around a laptop wherever I decide to study. Physics for me doesn't translate into words by looking at all the numbers on a page so the combination of video & audio is just what I need!
Joe helped our son prepare for the math portion of the ACT test. Before Joe's tutoring, our son scored a 22 and after Joe's instruction, our son scored a 26. We all really felt that Joe's help was the key to our son's math score improvement! Joe is kind, patient, and well-prepared. Excellent teacher and tutor!
Joe is a great resource for helping with High School Honors Physics. He goes over the material based on their level of understanding, clearly communicating the concepts, and providing very good notes for review later.
My son had been frustrated all year in his honor's physics class - his teacher just didn't connect with the kids - and my son, who has always done very well in science, was feeling overwhelmed. He was really excited about how well Joe worked with him - and now feels completely confident that he is prepared for his final test and his final exam. I wish I had looked into this earlier - and not only was he an excellent teacher, he was a really nice guy and my son enjoyed their time together - and that's saying a lot since they worked for 4 1/2 hours! It is very hard to find a good physics teacher and tutor - especially for honor's level work - but Joe was absolutely wonderful and I'd highly recommend him!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
Though I have a Master's degree in Physics, my qualifications in Algebra include: (1) homeschooling my eldest son in algebra through Pre-Calculus, as well as in ACT math, (2) working as an instructional coach for math and science teachers in a large suburban high school district, and (3) over 20 years of working with honors and AP-level Physics students, who consistently utilize Algebra and Trigonometry concepts.
I have been teaching AP Physics and Honors Physics for 20 years. For the past two years I have taught AP Physics to high school freshmen, which to my knowledge, is not done anywhere else (last year, all 7 freshmen earned scores of 4 or 5 on the exam; this year, I have 15 freshmen excelling in a class of 21 students). I have an MS in Physics Teaching, and I have been recently hired to be an instructional coach for math and science teachers in a large suburban high school district.
