Hello! You must be looking at this because you find Physics very challenging. I'd love to help! I have taught various levels of physics to public school students, private school students, homeschoolers and college students for 23 years. For ACT test prep, I've tutored students who have received scores in the 30+ range in math and science. My specialty, though, is advanced high school and introductory college physics (both algebra and calculus-based). I currently teach honors physics and AP Mechanics C to juniors and seniors in a large suburban high school district. I have also been overseeing the math development of my four home-schooled children from basic math through pre-calculus. Allow me the opportunity to help you see that physics is not only understandable, but that physics is Phun!

After just one lesson with Joe my daughter has a much clearer understanding of her AP physics class. She was really excited with how much she learned and accomplished in just one hour. Looking forward to her next session!
We are relieved that AVIK is following a structured and disciplined approach to Physics set by an experienced professional. Thanks to Joe.
Having registered 3hrs tutoring with Joe through facetime. He gave my son a comprehensive summary on AP physics previewing. He explained the concept in his own way which helped my son with better understanding.
Joe was very quick to respond to our inquiry and was able to get us set up with a time slot quickly. He is super friendly and easy to work with and has flexible hours. My 17 year-old son said Joe was very patient and knowledgeable and he really enjoys working with Joe. He was able to help my son understand the concepts he was struggling with.
Excellent tutor, helped me understand lots of concepts that I never have before and prepared me for the test more than I ever could have alone. We covered a ton of material over the span of about a month, and I feel so much better going into the test than I did before.
I came to Mr. K. in need of a physics tutor because my own teacher was not the greatest. Mr. K. was my tutor for almost a semester which should speak about his tutoring abilities highly. He was easy to ask questions and was extremely patient when I was exceptionally lost. Without a doubt, he saved my AP Physics 1+2 grade.
Joe is an exceptional teacher & tutor. We are so thankful to have found such a wonderful fit for our son. Joe is extremely thorough in his approach, challenging my son in each & every concept. He explains things in ways that are easy to understand, using lots of visual aids. Joe makes sure that my son has a complete understanding, welcoming any & all questions. My son wishes we found Joe sooner & looks forward to working with him throughout the remainder of the school year. Would highly recommend Joe....he really knows his stuff!!
My daughter was reluctant to meet with a tutor because she wasn't sure what she would ask. Joe took the lead and reviewed a lot of material in the first session. My daughter left with a much better understanding of the concepts and pages of notes to which she could later refer.
Joe was extremely helpful and patient in tutoring me in Physics! He took his time in explaining the problems and making sure that I understood them. I will definitely use his services again!
He clearly explained me the concepts for my chapter on oscillations under mechanics and reviewed the quiz and this is great help for me to score good on my next chapter test at school .
My daughter was ecstatic after the tutoring session. She felt like she finally understood and was anxious to do her homework! Looking forward to another session. It's nice to see her confidence return. Thank you, Joe!!
We love the flexibility and methods of his teaching. My daughter is really busy with sports and after school activities so it's great that see can get help on her available time.
My son was doing very poorly in Honors Physic from day one because his teacher used only one method of teaching and that method was not getting through to my son. Joe was able to explain the concepts in terms my son understood. Joe covered the first half of the semester and helped with the current lesson in just under two hours! Joe gave my son good notes to review and reinforce the concepts discussed. My son was ready drop Honors Physics and now he's looking forward to getting a good grade on his next test. We already have our next tutoring session scheduled with Joe. We highly recommend Joe as a Physic tutor.
My daughter needed some help with hs honors physics and Joe was able to go over concepts with her and clarify some pieces she was missing. Her confidence level was raised greatly. We will definitely schedule more sessions with Joe!
Joe is a great communicator of complex information. Very pleased with how he has assisted my daughter with her physics class. We will work with Joe again in the future.
Very knowledgeable! Joe made a screencast personalized to what my daughter needed to learn. This will give her the ability to review the material until she is comfortable. Hard to find a good high level physics tutor- would recommend Joe!
Our experience with Joe was wonderful. He was very responsive by email in setting up the tutoring session, was very knowledgeable in teaching physics to my daughter and followed up by sending her additional materials to help her understand the topics they covered. I would highly recommend using Joe as a physics tutor!!
Joe immediately decided what I needed to know and taught me useful material before we did some practice problems. I understand sound waves and how to apply energy concepts to simple harmonic motion much better since our tutoring session.
Joe - shows up with a customized tutoring plan, yet has shown the ability to make adjustments based on the strengths and needs of my child. My child continues to benefit from his time with Joe.
My son received his first lesson with Joe last evening, and it was a great experience. Joe was very patient and understanding, and very visual in his teaching method. That was extremely helpful to my son. I feel very confident that Joe will help him in Physics as well as increasing his ACT scores. We are looking forward to lesson #2!
Joe has an excellent ability to quickly grasp what or where the student is stuck on and can, and does walk through a problem step by step to enlighten them. Great teacher!
Joe had an immediate plan of action to help me with College of Dupage Physics 1201. I'm really not getting information presented in the way I understand. But Joe used an app on his iPad that i could watch as he wrote out the information. Then it was emailed to me. I could then rewatch the full audio & video & take notes at my own pace. I could watch it from my iPhone so I don't have to lug around a laptop wherever I decide to study. Physics for me doesn't translate into words by looking at all the numbers on a page so the combination of video & audio is just what I need!
Joe helped our son prepare for the math portion of the ACT test. Before Joe's tutoring, our son scored a 22 and after Joe's instruction, our son scored a 26. We all really felt that Joe's help was the key to our son's math score improvement! Joe is kind, patient, and well-prepared. Excellent teacher and tutor!
Joe is a great resource for helping with High School Honors Physics. He goes over the material based on their level of understanding, clearly communicating the concepts, and providing very good notes for review later.
My son had been frustrated all year in his honor's physics class - his teacher just didn't connect with the kids - and my son, who has always done very well in science, was feeling overwhelmed. He was really excited about how well Joe worked with him - and now feels completely confident that he is prepared for his final test and his final exam. I wish I had looked into this earlier - and not only was he an excellent teacher, he was a really nice guy and my son enjoyed their time together - and that's saying a lot since they worked for 4 1/2 hours! It is very hard to find a good physics teacher and tutor - especially for honor's level work - but Joe was absolutely wonderful and I'd highly recommend him!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have taught ACT Math prep for many years, helping several students earn scores in the 30's. I have a systematic process I use to help students acquire ACT Math skills. I often make personal screencasts for students so that they can watch and review concepts as often as they wish.
Though I have a Master's degree in Physics, my qualifications in Algebra include: (1) homeschooling my eldest son in algebra through Pre-Calculus, as well as in ACT math, (2) working as an instructional coach for math and science teachers in a large suburban high school district, and (3) over 20 years of working with honors and AP-level Physics students, who consistently utilize Algebra and Trigonometry concepts.
