As I qualified to teach the Japanese language by taking 420 hours of class instructions and teaching practice in Japan, I have provided practical Japanese language support to foreigners visiting or living in Japan (e.g., Americans, Brazilian or Hispanics) by teaching useful phrases and etiquette, reviewing job resumes, coaching for job interviews, interpreting at banks, realtors and medical clinics and other such daily necessities.
I also have 18 years of experience as a tutor of Japanese students in Japan. More specifically, I have taught Japanese, mathematics, science and social studies to elementary school children. At the junior high level, I have taught the same subjects plus English. For high school students, I have taught only English for school and entrance exams.
My career includes a variety of translation and interpretation work in both Japan and the US. I preferably take students from high school to college and adult learners are welcome, too. I speak English and Spanish and understand Portuguese, too. If you prefer, I can offer skype tutoring.
I hope we enjoy working together! Hisae really cares about you as a student and does a great job building your knowledge of Japanese. When the topics are complex, she is able to explain in a very clear and concise manner. Very patient, very capable. Highly recommended!
Hisae san is very patient and is helping me "refresh" the Japanese I studied over 20 years ago. I am delighted that we were connected through this website.
My first lesson with Hisae was fantastic! She was right on time for the lesson and very prepared. I really appreciated her attention to pronunciation and social customs. I learned a lot, and I am looking forward to our next lesson.
My daughter is a beginner in Japanese and Hisae was very patient with her. Hisae was able to make my daughter more comfortable with learning Japanese and is looking forward to more lessons.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have 18 years of tutoring experience in Japan. I've tutored children from elementary school to high school. Using teaching experience, I have also taught foreigners Japanese. I supported them as a translator, too, when they needed to go to the bank, real estate agency, clinic and so on.
