My Mission: I love helping students with math! My goal is to help you understand and enjoy math like I do.
My Experience: I am a 1992 graduate of Maranatha Baptist University earning a B.A. in Pastoral Studies with a Greek minor. I completed my M.S. in Educational Leadership in 2015 from Bob Jones University. I have been teaching in a private school for 31 years from 5th grade all the way to 12th grade. I have taught 5th and 6th grade math, 7th grade Fundamentals of Math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1 (mostly), Geometry, Algebra 2, and Consumer Math. I have also been the Administrator of the same school since 2001. On a couple of occasions, I have privately tutored college students in math and English. Through the years, I have also been privileged to coach high school Soccer and Basketball teams.
My Passion: However, my great passion is teaching math (especially Algebra), tutoring students one-on-one, and helping students reach their dreams. I desire to share a love for mathematics -- to help students overcome their fear of it and to realize how vital it is for their personal success and well-being.
My Philosophy: As the saying goes, "Give a man a fish and feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and feed him for life." While I can help students find the correct answer to a math problem, my desire is to help them think, understand, and apply the knowledge of mathematics to problem solving and, in doing so, help them succeed in life. I believe a strong knowledge of mathematics opens many doors of opportunity for you and your future.
My hobbies: I love singing in men's acapella groups, playing basketball, jogging, and reading. Oh, and doing Math!
