Hello, I'm Kirsten! I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Physics with a specialization in Educational Psychology. I went to college with the intention of being a math and science teacher as learning has always been one of my greatest passions! I have had so many teachers and professors that have inspired me through their passion of educating, talents of engaging students in all material, and exhibition of patience when explaining more complex topics and answering clarifying questions. These are skills that I incorporate into my own teaching style as I want to make learning as enjoyable of a process as possible. I am very flexible in my teaching style and have created lesson plans, guided notes, and practice materials for each subject I tutor in.
I have 4 years of tutoring and teaching experience in a middle-high private school environment. Each class I taught was in a 1:1 setting so I was able to customize curriculum and teaching style to fit each students' needs. I have worked with a variety of students with different needs in the classroom and of a variety of skill levels. I have always made myself available to those who need additional support in homework not only from my classes but other classes as well.
More than anything I want to help students and engage them in learning so after every session they feel confident that they have learned something. Since I want to customize each session, any resources or suggestions that can be provided will be greatly appreciated. Please reach out with any questions you may have and I look forward to setting up our first lesson!
