Hello, I am Daniel Gutierrez! I am currently a student at the University of Illinois getting a degree in Computer Science & Mathematics. I have taken many high-level math classes such as Statistics, Multivariable Calculus, Linear Algebra, Differential Equations, and Fundamental Mathematics (Proofs). Alongside this, I have also scored an 800 of the SAT math subsection and a 5 on AP Calculus BC, Statistics, Computer Science test. I have one year of experience tutoring math to 4th and 5th graders in an online zoom setting. Much of my time was spent in smaller groups of 4-5 students who seem to lack the understatement of the fundamentals. Learning a new topic can often be difficult, so I will usually start my lessons by showing applications of the topic in a unique way so that you can relate to the math more and create a deeper connection. My goal as a tutor is to not only teach you the required materials but also show you real-world applications, and most importantly, have fun doing it!

I love working with high schoolers who have a tough time grasping the concepts for the first time. I specialize in AP Calculus AB and BC (Calculus I and II), AP Computer Science A (Java), and SAT Math preparation. I am extremely flexible with my hours and don’t mind working on the weekends. I always take materials/resources that any student or parent can provide if they have them, if not, no worries! I have dozens and dozens of worksheets, practice problems, and past AP/SAT tests that I am more than willing to share

I love seeing students get that “light bulb” moment when everything finally clicks and their face lights up with joy.
