An Evidence-Based Approach to the Art of Teaching
With two master’s degrees—an M.S. in Speech, Language, and Learning from Northwestern University and an M.A. in TESOL from the University of Northern Iowa—I bring a well-rounded, evidence-based approach to teaching and learning.
For over a decade, I’ve taught English at all levels, from beginners to advanced college composition. As a speech-language pathologist, I’ve worked with children and adults in areas including language, articulation, social communication, stuttering, cognition, accent modification, and advanced syntax. My experience spans schools, clinics, hospitals, and rehabilitation centers.
After living in Germany and earning a B.A. in German Language and Literature from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, I understand firsthand the challenges of second language acquisition. I address learning anxiety with a whole-person approach that supports both emotional and academic growth.
Learning is complex. My interdisciplinary background allows me to help students absorb, retain, and apply knowledge effectively—combining scientific methods with the art of meaningful instruction.
