I'm Peter — a PhD in Materials Science & Engineering and a Master's in Computational Mathematics from Texas A&M, currently working as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Math and problem-solving have been the backbone of my entire career, from my graduate research to my current work in engineering simulation.

I'm Peter — a PhD in Materials Science & Engineering and a Master's in Computational Mathematics from Texas A&M, currently working as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Math and problem-solving have been the backbone of my entire career, from my graduate research to my current work in engineering simulation.

I've been tutoring since 2011 — over 2,000 hours across math, physics, engineering, and standardized test prep. Before that, I spent 8 years as a Teaching Assistant at the American University in Cairo and 1 year at Texas A&M, plus 12 years as a research assistant, so I've explained these concepts to everyone from struggling freshmen to graduate researchers. I've taught one-on-one, in small groups, and in classrooms of up to 50 students, and I've helped many GRE/GMAT students hit their target scores and get into top graduate programs.

My approach: I meet you where you are. Sessions focus on clear explanations, worked examples, and hands-on problem-solving — not just watching me solve problems, but building the strategies you need to solve them yourself. I also give you a self-study plan for between sessions, and we revisit trouble spots in follow-ups so progress actually sticks.

Great AP Precalculus tutor

We engaged Peter to help out with my sophomore’s understanding of AP Precalculus after noticing that he was having trouble with some concepts and his grades were not where he wanted them to be. Peter was able to work through problems with my son in a way that he understood it and was patient with him.
