Bio

My educational philosophy is very simple - anyone can succeed if they are willing to put in the work. I am a graduate of the school I teach at. This is my 21st year teaching. I teach AP Microeconomics, AP US History, AP US Government and Politics, and AP Comparative Government. My students routinely score higher than state and national averages on all four tests. I teach AP Microeconomics, AP US History, AP US Government and Politics, and AP Comparative Government. My students routinely score higher than state and national averages on all four tests. I am a reader / scorer for the College Board for AP US Government and Politics which has been the greatest gift that I can give my students - insight into what the College Board really is looking for in the writing portions. I am a two time graduate of Illinois State University - one degree is in political science and one is in social science education. I am also a graduate of the American Military University with a graduate degree in European History. I enjoy working one on one with students to help them master content, see new ways to solve problems, and build confidence in their abilities. My tutoring philosophy is simple - meet every student where they are and design a path to success together.

I have been teaching AP US Government for several years, helping students to well above state and national average scores. In fact, most of my students score higher on the FRQs than on the multiple choice because of my helpful background in grading for the College Board. I have a degree in political science from Illinois State University and a degree in social science education from Illinois State University - both of which give me a strong background in the subject.
Microeconomics

Microeconomics

My approach to microeconomics is simple - it's a "lightbulb subject." My job as a teacher is to guide students out of the dark so that they can find the string to pull to make the light bulb go off. Different students learn different ways in microeconomics. My approach will help meet students where they are and bring them to where they need to be to meet their goals. I have 20+ years of experience teaching with a social science education degree from Illinois State University.

I have degrees in both political science and social science education from Illinois State University. I have 20+ years of teaching experience at the high school level. I currently teach several sections of AP US Government and Politics and AP Comparative Government as well as read/score AP FRQs for the College Board.
United States History

United States History

I have been teaching history for over 20 years at the high school level. I teach AP US History and have seen my students score at or above the national and state averages again and again - most recently with a 100% pass rate (3 or better) in 2024-2025. I regularly attend the National AP Conference to sharpen my skills as an AP teacher as well as a teacher in general

We have taken 15 classes with Rob for Micro Economics last year and also started AP US History this year. I strongly recommend him as he breaks down complex problems in very simple, understandable concepts.
