Hi, I'm Madison! I am currently working on my PsyD in Clinical Forensic Psychology, and I previously graduated cum laude with my bachelor's degree in Psychology. I skipped my junior and senior years of high school and went straight into community college to begin working towards my bachelor's degree. I have always had a love for learning, and I enjoy being able to share and spark that love within others!
Previously, I have tutored one-on-one and in group settings with students ranging from elementary through high school in a variety of subjects. I have tutored students in chemistry, writing skills, math (algebra, geometry, trigonometry), history, spelling, reading comprehension, and more. I also have extensive knowledge in the realm of psychology and am confident in my ability to tutor in this subject. I have three years of one-on-one tutoring experience and two years of experience in group settings.
I like to approach tutoring with an understanding that not every student enjoys learning. I find it helpful to use various analogies and metaphors when introducing content to help students conceptualize what they are learning, followed by fun and interactive activities to put their knowledge into practice. I also implement activities that assess students' comprehension of the material, such as practice tests. I am always open to suggestions and recommendations from parents or students that I can incorporate into sessions!
